Vaam again Narcissus

Oh ye, whae seemed sae kind—
Whase luve wis a dairk anchor,
Whase airms were windin sheets,

Awa frae yon place,
wi yer een
like faimisht seas,

Ah willnae spread
ma wares
afore yer city waws.

Ah’m no yer bane-thirl—
ye cannae commaund
us to staund,

Nor shall ah nichtly hoond
yer ghaist
intae the hauf-lit past.

Dinnae retour again.

Ma hale life lang
Ah’ll gie ye nae mair luve.
E’en in heiven.
