| The following instructions describe how to install GaelSpell for use with Microsoft Entourage 2001 on the Macintosh. Entourage uses the same dictionary Word does, so if you have installed it already, skip to stage 3 below.
Installing GaelSpell in Microsoft Entourage 2001
-
Download the latest version of GaelSpell for Macintosh from the download page.
- Save this file in the "Microsoft" folder which is in the "Preferences" folder inside the "System Folder" on your computer.
-
Start Microsoft Entourage and open a new mail document.
-
Open the Edit menu, click on "Preferences...", and select "General..." from the popup menu. Click on the "Spelling" tab, and you should see a window like that shown in the picture below:
-
Make sure there is a "tick mark" in the box beside the "Check spelling as you type" option.
-
Click on the "Dictionaries..." button. You should see a Custom Dictionaries window similar to that shown below:
-
Select the file you just downloaded (it should be in the "System Folder:Preferences:Microsoft" folder) and then click "Select".
- GaelSpell has now been installed! Open a new document and type some text in Irish to make sure misspelt words have red lines underneath them.
